McCARTHY, Gerald E. age 70, of Riverside, passed away Monday, May 4, 2009 at Miami Valley Hospital. He retired from Commercial Metal Fabricators. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Cecile; sister, Judy Singhoff; and granddaughter, Amanda Couch Thompson. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sally; daughter, Roberta Couch; grandson, Andrew Couch; brothers, Robert (Viola), Thomas, and Patrick; sisters, Doris (Buster) Davis, Bonnie (Lonnie) Miller, Carol Yocum, and Jean (Gene) Hall; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Friday, May 8, 2009 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Funeral services will be 11:30 am Saturday, May 9, 2009 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, 1661 Nicholas Rd. Dayton, OH 45418.
