Gerald O. Marsden "Jerry" age 76 of Dayton, OH passed away Monday, January 24, 2022, at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born August 12, 1945, in Dayton, OH to the late Charles "Bud" and Mary Belle Marsden.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sister Mary C. Geitz, brothers Charles L. Marsden, Larry A. Marsden, and Thomas E. Marsden.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Elaine Marsden (Dallas Staton), Xenia, OH, grandchildren Alexys Adams, Asa Dunlevey, and Jase Staton; sisters Rita Horn New Carlisle OH, Linda DeVoe Huber Heights, OH, and Bonnie Ewing Kettering OH, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by his soulmate of 21 years Sue Heggan.
For much of his life, Jerry was a brick mason. He was good at his trade and worked most of his time with his brothers Charles and Thomas.
Jerry adored his daughter Elaine, he cherished the time he spent with her traveling and everyday life. She will always be daddy's girl. He was proud of his granddaughter Alexys and the choices she made especially joining the military. He will be watching over her and keeping her safe. Jerry loved to travel to watch his grandson Asa play baseball. He was proud of him as a ballplayer and the man he is becoming. He will still be cheering him on from above. For the last 2 years, Jerry was Jase's after-school babysitter. He couldn't wait for 2:30p to come, so he and the "tough guy" could spend the afternoon together.
Jerry met no stranger, he had a great sense of humor and a gift of gab. People young and old loved to sit and talk about his travels and his stories of his past and present.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
