LaRoe, Gerald "Jerry" age 62 went to be with the Lord on Sunday March 11, 2012. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, and Coach.
He was born to the late Gordon and Dorothy LaRoe on November 1, 1949 in Louisville, Ky. He is preceded in death by his brother, Bert and brother-in-law, Tommy Helm.
He leaves behind to mourn him; his loving wife of 41 years, Patty; children, Jason, Jared (Kathy), Juliann (Pepe) Chavez, and Jinna (Andrew) Walters; grandchildren, Marissa, Cydnie, Noah, Eli, Ethan, Luca, Charlize, and Abel; great-grandson, Landon; siblings, Charles, David (Sheina) Gordon, Robert (Gayle) LaRoe, Betty (Jerry) Hampton, and Linda Helm; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was a retired biology teacher. His passions in life were his family and coaching soccer. He coached for 35 years; first in recreation and then in select as the Wolfpack Soccer Team. He inspired many players to continue on at high school and college level; some became coaches themselves. He was a dad and Papaw to many. He will be greatly missed at home as much as on the soccer fields by family and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 16, 2012 from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to family for a memorial at Rip Rap Fields.
