Gerald "Gerry" D. Hall, 80, of West Carrollton, passed away on October 12, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born on February 26, 1937 to the late Kermit and Verdie (Howard) Hall in Royal Oak, MI.
Honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1954-1957 with the Aerial Photography Division of VMCJ-3 in El Toro, CA.
On July 2, 1960, he married Ruth Shelley and made West Carrollton their home.
Gerry worked as a Project Engineer for Standard Register, retiring after 42 years of service in 1991.
Gerry was a member of DARF Club, enjoyed auto racing at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH., playing cards, and an aviation enthusiast.
Gerry is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ruth; daughter, Karen R. Lynch (Rod); son, James D. Hall; grandchildren, Nicole Quinn (Dave), Emma Lynch, Mitchell D. Hall, Samantha Hall, and Andrew J. Lynch; great-grandsons, Jaxon and Holdyn Quinn; and siblings, Jim Fletcher and Rena Hayes, as well as a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 20, 2017, 6:00-8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Kettering, OH.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017, 11:00 am at the Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Kettering, OH. with burial following at Evergreen Cemetery in West Carrollton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Hospice of Dayton.
