Gerald A. Davis Jr was called home unexpectedly at age 51 on January 7, 2023, with his son, Coree, at his side. Gerald was born on February 9, 1971, in Columbus, Ohio. He was the second child and only son to Josephine (Jodie) and Gerald A. Davis Sr. Gerald was preceded into Glory by his beloved parents; Gerald Sr. and Josephine Davis, grandparents; Leo Maurice and Susie Mae Davis, Carole Marie (Lawrence), great grandparents; Thomas and Florabelle Lawrence, Uncles; Thomas Howard, and Kevin Hardnick. He leaves to cherish in memory his sister Nicole (Steven) Gwaltney, Leslie Davis his wife of 33 years, his children; Coree G. Davis, Dominique A. Davis, Mariah M. Davis, niece Tiara S. Davis, as well as many loving Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
Though Gerald AKA "G-Man" was only on earth for a brief time, he is remembered every day by his family and friends. Gerald joined the Navy in 1989 and became a medical Corpsman for the Marines. In 1992 he fought with the Marines in Operation Restore Hope as part of the Somalia Civil War. The Battalion called him "Doc." Gerald was proud to serve his country and shared many stories of his time spent in the Navy. Gerald loved life, lived it to the fullest. The beach was his happy place enjoyed the ocean and having his feet in the sand. He adored his family, especially his children. Had a joy for driving fast and music, the louder the better. Gerald's sense of humor lit up any room, and his family hopes to continue his legacy by honoring his memory
A memorial service will be held at 1:30pm on Thursday, March 30th, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home - North Chapel, 4140 Needmore Rd. Dayton, OH 45424.
