Gerald Dennis Boyd
August 8, 1930 — April 2, 2023
Gerald Dennis Boyd, 92, passed away peacefully on April 2nd, 2023. Loving husband of Joann Boyd for 68 years, cherished father of Thomas (Kay) Boyd, Richard (Kimberly) Boyd, Patrick (Brenda) Boyd, Frances (Greg) Milano and Anthony (Susan) Boyd. Jerry is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a step brother.
Jerry is preceded in death by his mother Frances Boyd, grandparents Frank and Johanna Moorman, brother Gene Boyd as well as 17 brothers and sisters that he was raised with.
Jerry served 4 years in the United States Navy and is a proud Korean War Veteran. He was a long time member of VFW post 2800 where he was not only a member but spent many hours volunteering for them.
Jerry enjoyed fishing, dancing, horseshoes and cards. His favorite time was spent with his family and friends, they were his most important thing in life.
Jerry's family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the Dayton VA Hospice and special thanks to his caregivers Tara and Carissa.
Public visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church (411 E 2nd St, Dayton, OH 45402) on Wednesday April 12th, 2023 at 9:00 am with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 am. Jerry will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery with military honors on Tuesday April 18th, 2023 at 1:00 pm.
