George Tankersley, Sr.

Tankersley, George E. (Sr.), age 75, of Peebles, OH, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born October 10, 1931 in Dayton, OH, the son of William & Mary Elizabeth (Brock) Tankersley. He was a member of the Local 24 Sheet Metal Workers. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Tankersley; and 6 brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Lois Tankersley; children, George (Janet) Tankersley of Miamisburg, OH, Diane Wilson of Dayton, OH, Larry Tankersley of Hillsboro, OH, Heather Tankersley of Peebles, OH, Lori (Michael) Lee of Dayton, OH; 8 grandchildren and 1 on the way; sisters, Wanda Morris of Kettering, Louise Chase of Englewood, Helen Campbell of Englewood; and brother, Bernard Tankersley of Englewood. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH. Burial will follow at Bearcreek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:30 until the time of services.
