George Robert Stubblefield, "Bob," age 88 of Centerville, passed away Friday, November 18, 2022 at Miami Valley Hospital South. He was born October 10, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Howard and Mary Olive Stubblefield.
Bob graduated from Northridge High School Class of 1953. He is also a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Era. Bob loved sports and was an All City athlete in basketball and football. He continued his love for basketball and played at the University of Dayton and for the United States Army. He was a member of Bethel Christian Assembly of God and was loved by many there. He was also an insurance agent for nearly 40 years.
Bob is survived by his children, Robb (Alesia) Stubblefield and Karen (Dean) Smith; grandchildren, Robert Stubblefield (Rebekah Kish), Olivia (Brad) McCay, Katie Stubblefield; great grandchildren, Luke, Jake, and Kace McCay; siblings, Stephen (Abigail) Stubblefield and Pam (Keith) Ehrensing; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Stubblefield; siblings, Naomi Gross, Martha Corder, James Stubblefield, Iona Jane "Janie" Butz, and Carol Gourlas.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Newcomer Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45459). Funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in David's Cemetery with military honors.
