George Robert Keller "Bob", age 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, Oct 14, 2012.
Bob was born in Dayton, Ohio and was a graduate of Parker High School, University of Dayton and University of Michigan. He served in the 137th Infantry, 35th Division of the US Army during WWII earning a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Bob was a member of VFW Post #9927 in Kettering, Christ United Methodist Church and a Mason at the Dayton Millennium Lodge. He was an active volunteer for the City of Kettering Beautification Committee and Cox Arboretum.
Bob is survived by his daughter Judy Keller and grandson Jordan Keller; nieces and nephews Karen Hammial and Alan Jury of Sydney, Australia; Becky Hardy, Robert & Tammy Jackson of Florida; loving friend Jean Steele and "sis" Jeanne Chenoweth.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Mary Keller; grandson, Logan Robert Keller; parents Felix and May Keller; brother Barney & Ruth Keller; sister Grace Jackson and nephew Bo Keller.
Graveside Services will be Friday, Oct 19, 2012 at 11am at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to benefit his grandson, Jordan's college education may be made to Judith Keller c/o Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439.
