George Ray Pickens Jr.

George R. Pickens, Jr., age 70, of Washington Courthouse, passed away on September 14, 2023, at his residence. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, on May 30, 1953, the son of the late George Ray and Dorothy Pickens, Sr.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Jane Pickens Bloom.

George is survived by his beloved wife of over 12 years, Blinda Pickens; children, Tracy (Todd) Potts, Charles (Lee Ann) Pickens, Doug (Crystal) Pickens, Kristie (Joshua) Smith, Krystal Pickens, Robert (Brittney) Gibson and Betsy (Danny) Barron; grandchildren, Tanner (Jenna) Mick, Zachary Potts, Kelsey Potts, Joshua Smith, Nikkiah Smith, Austin Pickens, Hannah Pickens, Dakoda Pickens, Kayla Chapel, Stormie Lynn Stroud, Madux Gibson and Chase Barron and Henley Barron; great grandchildren Isaiah Fettig, Issac Harrison, Maddie Lynn Purdin and Laura Connor; sisters, Carol Lealy and Betty (Michael) Cole; and many other loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.

George retired from Airborne Express, where he was a Forklift Operator for over 20 years. In his free time, he enjoyed cheering on his Ohio State Buckeyes, photography and loved to travel all different places. George adored the time spent with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
