George Page Mccown

MCCOWN, George Page, age 83, resident of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2008. George was born in Sand Springs, OK, served in the U.S. Navy in WWII as a Gunners Mate First Class, and worked 40 years as a union carpenter. He enjoyed gardening and walking, often walking 10 miles a day. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nellie; children/spouses, James (Carol) McCown, Eva Jo Ray, Gail (James) Cowan, Douglas (Suzanne) McCown, Dan McCown, and Lesa (Robert) Blest; grandchildren, Tonya, Debbie, Jeremy, Jessica, Caitlin, Stephen, Danielle, and Desiree; great grandchildren, Kyle, Michaela, Daniel, and Emily. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am Friday, February 1, 2008 at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, 1639 E. Lytle-Five Points Rd., Centerville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
