George B. Myer, age 80 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born October 24, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late George W. Myer and Mary E. (Murphy) Myer.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Sally (Sarah) Geiger, Lois Caldwell, Joy Peck, Robert Myer, Joanne Owens, Judy Qualls, Mary Jane (Leroy); daughter, Marla J. Myer; close family friends, Virginia Donahue and Brooke Coldwell (daughter of Catherine Coldwell).
George is survived by his son, Matthew (Sarah) Myer; former spouse and mother of his children, Judith (Myer) Mueller; brother-in-law, Jerry Qualls; close family friends, Catherine Coldwell, Samantha (Kelly) Bond and their children, Haley, Jayden and Matthew; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
George is a veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Korean War on the USS Guadalupe.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 10 am to 11 am at Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424). A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am.
