George L. Miranda, 74, of Kettering, passed away December 10, 2022. He was born April 7, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio to the late George S. and Dorothy (Steauble) Miranda.
George was a graduate of Wilbur Wright High School, Class of 1966. While in high school, George played trumpet in the marching band and performed with an extra-curricular drill team. From 1972 until 1992, as a side-job, George took his passion for pop and rock music and started his own business as a wedding and event DJ. George retired from the University of Dayton Dining Services after 18 years of service. He was a member of the Dayton Masonic Lodge #147 and recognized for 50 years of being a Mason.
George is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rebecca "Becky" (nee Shank) Miranda; his son, Nick (Amber) Miranda, along with his granddaughter, Evelyn Miranda , his grandson, James Miranda and his beloved Dachshunds, Kali and Oliver.
George will be remembered as a man of excess generosity, who was always looking for ways to outdo himself. He was never without a story to offer, and now he shall live on in the most fitting way: as the legendary character he was.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 5:30 pm until time of service at 7:30 pm at Newcomer Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of Dayton or to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, in George's memory.
