George Manuel of Dayton, Ohio (born October 11, 1924) went to be with the Lord on October 18, 2007. He recently suffered with irreparable heart-related health problems. He was preceded in death by his blessed wife: Shirley; his parents: Lazarus and Katie Manuel; and his sisters: Lucy Manuel (OH), Marian Earman (OH), Livia Doyle (TX), and Violet Farnham (CA). He is survived by his two children: Phillip Manuel and Carol Marvin; his siblings: Julie Meece (FL), Larry Manuel (OH), Myra Washington (CA), Jeannie Strohecker (CA), and Linda Boggs (GA); three stepchildren; two step-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews. George, a Roosevelt High School graduate and lifelong member of Bethel Christian Assembly of God (previously Bethel Temple), was a retired master plumber and building contractor. For a brief time, he worked as a farmer. As a retired senior, he graduated from Capital University's pre-law program. He served his country during WWII as a serviceman in the Navy and traveled the globe as a Merchant Marine. George and his wife served the Lord as deacons at New Life Assembly of God in Marysville, Ohio and also as spiritual ministers to those who have been incarcerated. George's family plans to grieve privately and asks that you respect these wishes.
