George Johnson Jr.

George Johnson Jr., age 90, of Dayton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2022. He was born on February 14, 1932 to Jennie Mae and George Johnson Sr. He moved to Dayton in 1954.
He was a loving husband and always took care of his family. He was a devoted father and grandfather. George lived a clean and healthy lifestyle and enjoyed walking around the city. He was an avid Pittsburg Steelers Fan. George worked for General Motors for over 32 years.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Earlene Johnson; his parents, Jennie Mae and George Johnson Sr.; his son, George Johnson III; his siblings: Martha Lee Johnson Sims and Mary Rose Herring; and his step-sisters, Lilbon Cordell and Juanita Jones.
He will be remembered by his children: Nina Johnson Prince, David (Shavelta) Johnson, Jacquelyne Johnson, Roselyn Peeler, Tanya (Palmer) Towns, Roxanne (Ernest) Curry; daughter-in-law, Annette Johnson; grandchildren: Shanita Johnson, Katrina Johnson, Indonesia Johnson, David Johnson II, Deshawn Lamar Johnson, Tameka Tucker, Robert (Shauntae) Taylor, III, Mia (William) Byrd, Tanesha Prince, Gregory Prince, Michael Lavern Jenkins, Martrice (Greg) Collins; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, in Dayton, Ohio, where the funeral service will begin at 1:00pm.
