George H. Johnson, Jr.

George H. Johnson, Jr., age 89 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Wright Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born on October 8, 1928 in Floyd County, KY to the late George Sr. and Sarah (Musik) Johnson. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his first wife, Geneva Maynard, his second wife, Imo Jean Johnson and several siblings.
He is survived by his children, John (Lois) Lovins, Stephen (Mary) Lovins and Joe (Heather) Johnson; step-children, Teresa (Greg) Plumb, Jeffrey (Linda) Powell and Kimberly (Robert) Barnett; grandchildren, Jackie Lovins, Robin Lovins, Katie Grubb, Stephen Lovins, Brenna Shahan and Ian Johnson; step-grandchildren, Charlie Lovell, Chad Lovell, Justin Lovell, Anthony Powell, Amanda Cecil, Robert Barnett IV and Brian Powell; sister, Ida Mae Story and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
George was an avid member of Open Bible Christian Church in Dayton. His faith was tremendous and reading the Bible was a passion. George loved spending time with his family and completing crossword puzzles. He survived the last 50 years by living on McDonald's cheeseburgers and senior coffees.
George's wishes were to be cremated and have no services, which his family is respecting.
