EVANS, George E., age 76, of Dayton, passed away Sat., Sept. 25, 2004 at Miami Valley Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Elma; 4 daughters Joyce Eldridge & husband Randy, Karen Powell & husband Rick and Julie Fox & husband Paul all of Springboro and Kathleen North & husband Chris of Powell, OH; 2 step-sons Michael J. Rupert of Dayton and Steve Rupert & wife Ellen of Englewood; 1 sister Betty Meyer of NJ and 10 grandchildren. George was an Eagle Scout, a graduate of Miami Univ., a stockbroker for Cowen & Co. for over 30 years, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of Masonic Lodge #158 F&AM of Marysville, OH, the Antioch Shrine and the International Association Legion of Honor, where he was Past Commander. Memorial services and Legion of Honor services will be held at 6 P.M., Thurs., Sept. 30, 2004 at Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Pastor Bruce Moore officiating. A gathering of family and friends will precede the service from 4 - 6 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America or Antioch Children's Hospitals in George's memory.
