George Cunningham

George E. Cunningham, age 78, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 14, 2009. George is survived by loved ones: Vernetta "Nita" Cunningham and their daughter Lisa Brown, Lisa's husband Russ and two adored grandsons Dustin and Dillan. George was a veteran of the US Air Force serving from 1949-1952 and 1957-1962 and a veteran of the US Navy serving from 1953-1957. During his time in the Navy he served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Randolph in the Mediterranean. His grandsons honored his service with an engraved brick placed at the Veterans Memorial in November 2007. George was retired from Cooper Tools (Apex) in 1995 after 32 years. Of all the places in the world he'd been, his favorite place was home. The family will receive friends Monday, January 19, 2009 from 10-11am at Newcomer Funeral Home Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH 45439). The service will follow at 11am. Interment will be at a later date at the Dayton National Cemetery.
