George C. Rich Jr., age 84, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013. He was born January 31, 1928 in Moodyville, TN to the late George & Cora Rich.
George served in the U.S. Army. He retired from GM after 38 years. George was a member of the First Church of God on Heincke Rd in Miamisburg.
George is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mabel Rich; children, Terry (Lin) Rich and Kathy (Dixon) Chaney; grandchildren, Derek (Kristi) Smith, Jessica (Lenny) Glaser, Justin Rich, Carla (Jason) Branham and Andrea (BJ) Honious; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Nelda Aaron; and many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Monday, January 28, 2013 from 1-2pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The service will follow at 2pm. Burial will take place at Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
