Genevieve Workman, born June 5, 1935 of Vandalia, Ohio, passed away August 6, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents, Romie and Goldie Thaxton of Charleston, WV; brothers: Hillard Thaxton, Robert Thaxton and Charles Thaxton; sisters: Linda Beane and Betty Harrison, all of Charleston, WV and Dorothy VanHoose of Huntington, WV.
She is survived by her 2 daughters: Candy S. Lay of Medway, OH and Gloria Gala; son, James Workman both of Vandalia, OH; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Brenda Whittington; brother, Paul Thaxton both of Charleston, WV; and friend, Ernest Woods, Jr. of Dayton, OH.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, August 10, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 12:30 – 1:30 pm. Entombment to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
Genevieve will be missed by all who knew her. Many thanks to Patriot Ridge Community in Fairborn, OH and a special thank you to VITAS Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VITAS Hospice, 3055 Kettering Blvd., Moraine, OH 45439.
