On January 27, 2017, God Almighty reached out to Geneva A. Whiting and told her, "It is time." Quietly she breathed no more and after years of not being able to walk from Parkinson's disease, she ran into the loving arms of her Lord & Savior- Jesus Christ.
It is with a saddened, heavy heart that I convey this event to all of you, and yet—simultaneously with great joy… because although her family: children- Jeff Whiting (CA), Gary Whiting (VA), Greg Whiting (IL) & Mary Whiting (OH) plus a myriad of other family members & friends will miss her; we know she is now without pain. Plus she is now reunited with her husband of almost 60 years, Daryl Whiting- who passed in 2010. Her faith sustained her knowing they would see each other again someday. That day was last Friday; such a joyful reunion it must have been & continues to be.
She is joined in her heavenly celebration by John & Cora Kruis (her parents), Mel Kruis (brother), Keri & Edward VanderWeele (beloved sister & brother-in-law) and many brothers & sisters in Christ, too numerous to name. Siblings that remain with us to celebrate her life: Roland Kruis & Jo (brother in OK), Allan Kruis (brother in CA), Audrey Otten & Roger (sister in WI) and Harriett Farwell & Jerry (sister in MI).
She wouldn't want any of us to remain in our grief, but look to Jesus for comfort and to Him for our own eternal salvation. She would want her passing to cause you & me, everyone, to pause and examine our own lives; asking…. What is my relationship with Jesus? & hopefully ask and pray that our love of God through Jesus would Grow in whatever time we have here.
That someday we, too, will run into the arms of Jesus when It is Our Time!
Memorial Service to celebrate Geneva's life is scheduled Saturday, February 25, 3pm at South Dayton Presbyterian Church.
