Geneva M. Phillips, age 72, of Dayton, OH passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Heartland of Centerville. She was born December 29, 1946 in Jackson, Kentucky to Harkless and Eliza (Lykins) Reed. Geneva married David N. Phillips on February 9, 1974 in Springboro, OH.
Geneva graduated from Monroe High School in 1964 and worked as a manufacturing electrician for Square D for 30 plus years, retiring in 2002. She loved and collected elephants, and she received many elephant themed gifts over the years. Geneva loved to travel on cruises and visited Alaska, which was her favorite and to Florida every summer with David. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Geneva is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, David; a daughter, Dawn Black; a niece, BethAnn (Eric) Kohlhorst; a grandson, Caleb Sabourin; two great nieces, Hannah and Rachel Kohlhorst; a brother, Dennie (Cheryl), Leonard (Dianna) and Joe (Barb) Reed; a sister in law, Jane Reed and other numerous, nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Roger Reed; and a sister Faye Mayberry.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
