Geneva Horner

October 10, 1938 — December 15, 2019

Geneva Horner, age 81 of Dayton, OH gained her wings and found her peace on Sunday, December 15, 2019. She was born October 10, 1938 in Versailles, Indiana to James and Sarah (Trent) Coldiron. Jenny married Edward Horner on September 7, 1968 in Dayton, OH.

For Jenny, she found the happiness in everything she did, always making everyone laugh and always found the silver lining. She was known for her down home cooking while dancing barefoot in the kitchen with a cup of coffee in her hand listening to Classic Country and Bluegrass music. Jenny was an officer of AMVETS Post #24 and a member of the Shamrock Athletic Club. She was always at her families activities to include graduations, ball games and school functions. Jenny loved to travel with her family around the United States, from the big cities to the small towns. She was the glue that kept the "fam-damly" together. Jenny loved them dearly and will be greatly missed by all, especially her two cats, Midnight and Misfit.

Jenny first began her battle with cancer in 2009, being diagnosed with breast cancer, and four weeks later with cervical cancer. After winning these battles, she was then diagnosed in 2012 with cancer in her right lung, followed by another diagnosis in 2019 with cancer in her left lung. Despite these odds, she again defeated these cancers. However in October of 2019, she was diagnosed with lymphoma of the brain and while undergoing treatment she developed complications unrelated to her cancers that she could not overcome. Her strength and bravery were unrivaled, always proclaiming the "cancer would never get the best of me."

Jenny is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ed; five daughters, Donna M. McKnight, Mildred A. (Otis) Daniels, Carrie M. Keegan, Tammy L. (Thomas) Robison and Stacie L. Horner; 16 grandchildren, Robert, Missy, Jackie, J.J., Richard, Randall, Rebecca, Shandi, Eric, Bruce, Jen, William, Taylor, D.J., Talon and Austin; numerous great grandchildren; a sister, Sarah Irene White; many beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings Hazel, Frank, Taylor, Lou, George, and Lura; and her dear nephew, Johnny.

A Celebration of Jenny's life will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. A Memorial Service will follow the celebration.
