Gene J. York

Gene Joseph York, age 59 of Riverside, passed away October 24, 2018. He was born December 31, 1958 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Charles and Charlotte York. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his son, Jason York; sister, Patricia York; brother, Charles York, Jr.; great-great-nephew, Vincent Stemple.

Gene is survived by his daughter, Krista York; granddaughters: Kylie and Jaylyn; brothers and sisters: Charlene Stemple (Robert), Tom York (Helen), Elizabeth Petry (Jeff), Jennifer Combs (Randy), Chris York (Jackie) and Jeff York (Lilo); and over 30 nieces and nephews.

Gene served Dayton Public School System as a bus driver for many years; he worked in maintenance at Wright State University until his retirement; and worked in his own painting business. Gene loved riding motorcycles and playing pool; he participated in many pool tournaments in the Tri-State area. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 6-7 pm on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 7:00 pm.
