Gene B. Welch , age 91, of Beavercreek, passed away on October 19, 2024. He was born in Texon, Texas, on March 16, 1933, the son of the late Bruce and Ethel Welch.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Sheri Messer; and his siblings, Charlotte Hinson, Jane Swalley and Richard Welch.
Gene is survived by his brother, Walter (Patty) Welch; brother-in-law, Harvey Swalley; son-in-law, David Messer; grandchildren, Ian and Kevyn Amy Messer; great-granddaughter, Liv; step-children, Brad (Jessica) Naugle and Emily (Tim) Wilcox; step-grandchildren, Ellie, Alison, Shelby, Braden and Maggie; and also, Brad & Emily's mother, Nancy Welch; as well as several nieces and nephew.
He served his country proudly by serving in the United States Army for over 31 years, where he attained the rank of Colonel, retiring in 1984. Also, Gene retired from SAIC in 2006. In his free time, he enjoyed going to the Beavercreek Senior Center.
Following with Gene's wishes, there will be no services held. At a later date, he will be interred in Chickasha, OK.
