Gene A. Apple

Apple, Gene A., age 65, of Kettering, passed away on June 24, 2011. Gene was a 40 year employee of Kettering Health Network and a member of the Ohio Society for Respiratory Care. He loved gardening, woodworking and photography and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan.

Gene is survived by his wife of 43 years: Sue Apple; daughters and son-in-law: Kim (Todd) Aebie, Jill Apple; three grandchildren: Ryan, Aaron & Kaylyn Aebie; brother and sister-in-law: Don (Rose) Apple; sister and brother-in-law: Janet (Ron) Fall; 3 nephews; 1 niece; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ralph & Elsie (Miller) Apple.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, July 11, 2011 at Kettering Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3939 Stonebridge Road, Kettering, Ohio 45419. A reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of Kettering Medical Center, especially Dr. Franklin Handel, Dr. Hemant Shah, Dr. Vida Farhangi, Dr. Salman Razi, Dr. George Burton, the Respiratory Care Department, Chaplain Martin Shaw and Linda Farley of the Pastorial Care Staff, and the nurses and staff of CCU and ED. In lieu of flowers, contributions are encouraged to be made to the Gene A. Apple Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o KMC Foundation, 3535 Southern Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45429, envelopes will be provided.
