GayLee M. (Smith) (Goubeaux) Foley
GayLee M. of Tipp City, OH, died Aug. 5, 2018. She was born Feb. 15, 1934, daughter of the late Walter J. and Amelia C. (Mock) Smith. In addition to her parents, GayLee was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert F. Goubeaux, Sr.; sisters, Shirley and Betty Jane Smith; brothers, Robert J. and Walter J. Smith.
She is survived by her loving husband of 38+ years, Paul "Bill" Foley; blended family of 9 children, Ronald (Carol) Goubeaux of Arcanum, OH; Sandra (Robert) Brinkman of Tipp City, OH; Sharon (Greg) Steinmetz of Zanesville, OH; Susan (John) Hazelrigg of Huber Heights; Robert (Jocelyn) Goubeaux, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA; Gary Ireland, Mark, Kevin (Cheri) and Sean Foley all of Springfield, OH; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Helen (Vint) (Foley) Caplinger; special caregiver, Debbie Schneider and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
GayLee was a 1951 graduate of Julienne High School and graduated from the University of Dayton and Wright State University with her Master's Degree. She retired from the Huber Heights City Schools following a career as a Remedial Reading Specialist. GayLee was a member of St. Peter Church and Catholic Order of Foresters, St. Joseph Court, #364,. She was also a member and past president of Pi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma and member of the Montgomery County Retired Teachers.
Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH 45424. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 AM on Saturday, August 11 at
St. Peter Parish, 6161 Chambersburg Rd., Huber Heights, 45424 with Fr. Ethan Moore celebrant. Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elizabeth's New Life Center, 2201 N. Main St., Dayton, OH 45405.
