Gary "Buzz" Weaver, 86 years of Fairborn, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023.
Gary was born in Pittsburgh, PA on November 29, 1936, the son of the late Robert and Mary Alice Weaver. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Weaver, and his son, Jeffrey.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Weaver, sons Doug (Andra), Pat (Patty), daughters Tracy (Jim) Gallagher, Cindy (Chris) Cameron, daughter-in-law Brenda Weaver, grandchildren Paige, Chrissy (Ron), Cody, Nick, Tim (Hannah), Alex, Zach (Abby), Allison, Joe (Caroline), Cole, Jimmy (Emily), Sean (Sarah), Lindsay (Brenden), Matt (Nikki), Sammy, Tisha (Tim), and Tonya, 15 great-grandchildren, a sister, Joan (Tom) Bigley of Pittsburgh, PA, sister-in-law, Lois (Tom) Dierken, of Green Valley, AZ, and dear friends Viola Ferry, Frank Eastepp, Joe Fodel, and long-time friend and favorite secretary, Mary McClellan.
Gary received a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 1959. While attending college, he was employed by the US Postal Service and J&L Steel Corporation. In 1961, he accepted a position as a GS-05 industrial engineer at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. After 30 years of government service, he retired in 1991 as a GM-15, Deputy Director of the Directorate of Resources, Communications-Computer Systems, Headquarters of Air Force Logistics Command (AFLC), Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
He was an avid golfer and bowler and loved spending time with his family. He is a legend to all who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
