Gary W. Tipton, a cherished member of the family and community, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024, in Dayton, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. Born on June 4, 1947, in Xenia, Gary spent over 35 years in a fulfilling career at Delco, where his hardworking spirit became evident.
Gary was not only dedicated to his work but also profoundly devoted to his faith. As a proud member of The Gathering Place Baptist Church, he found joy in helping others, often applying his talents in building and fixing things around the church. His contributions extended beyond mere tasks—he shared the word of Jesus with heartfelt sincerity.
A kind and generous soul, Gary’s personality shone through in everything he did. He had a big heart and a loving nature that touched the lives of those who knew him. His passion for life extended to various hobbies, including NASCAR, riding motorcycles, and painting. A talented artist, Gary found beauty painting and drawing with skill that delighted many. He cherished quiet moments by indulging in fishing or watching old movies, always appreciating the simple joys of life.
Gary proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life that shaped him and instilled a sense of duty and honor. He is remembered for his bravery and commitment to his country.
He leaves behind a loving family: his children, Christy (Adam) Graham and Andy (Monica) Tipton, as well as his bonus children, Tamara, Cory, and Kristin. He was a doting grandfather to his grandchildren, Chloe, Troy, Noah, Audrey, and Anthony, who brought immense joy to his life. Gary also leaves a sister, Paula Coots, and a brother, John (Sherry) Tipton, whose loving memories will carry his spirit forward.
Gary reunites in peace with those who predeceased him, including his parents, Langley and Margaret Tipton, and his brothers, Roger (Mary) Tipton, and Doug Tipton.
A remarkable man, Gary W. Tipton’s life was a beacon of love, kindness, and generosity. He will forever be missed, cherished, and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of faith and devotion will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
Family will receive guests from 10:00 am - 11:00 am on Friday, January 3, 2025 at The Gathering Place Baptist Church (3001 Ackerman Blvd, Dayton, OH 45429) where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with Pastor Dan Mullins officiating.
