BLAKLEY, Gary W.
Age 66, of Dayton, passed away July, 8, 2010 after a short battle with cancer.
Gary proudly served our country as a Sgt. in the US Marine Corps in Vietnam. He was an avid fisherman who reveled in telling jokes & making quirky comments. Gary was a 1962 graduate of Stebbins High School & carried himself with honor & pride.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, the late Joann Madison Blakley; parents Robert & Rosalee Blakley; & brother Charles Blakley.
Gary is survived by his children, daughter Barbara (Douglas) Blackburn, son Gary W. (April) Blackley, Jr., daughter Tammie Rudd, & daughter Angel (Gary) Rhodes; dear companion of 13 years, Patricia Summers; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters Sarah, Shirley, Pat, & Lisa; & a host of nieces & nephews.
The family would like to thank everyone who has given support during Gary's illness & would like to give special thanks to his nephew Randy Blakley, niece Melissa Nordyke; & brother-in-law Martin Pulley, Sr.
Visitation will be held from 12-2pm, Sat. July 17 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton where a memorial service will be held at 2pm on Sat.
