Gary Tyler Thomas Fugate "Tyler", of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on January 29, 2022, at the age of 16 years, 7 months, and 23 days. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend.
Tyler was born in Dayton, Ohio, on June 6, 2005 and he leaves behind his parents, Gary Wayne and Martha, a sister, Lorelei, his paternal grandparents, Gary and Donna Fugate, his maternal grandmother, Sharon Stepp, aunts, Sonya (Craig) Tipton and Linda (David) Hare, uncles, Travis (Cindy) Fugate, Paul (David) Stepp, great uncle, Michael (Radney) Fugate and great aunt, Cathy (Joe) Crabtree, first cousins, Claira, Bayleigh, Gavin, TJ, Tanner, Kierra, Kylie, Olivia and David, along with numerous other extended family members and friends to cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Tom Stepp, paternal great grandparents, William and Nellie Fugate and Willie and Julia Hatfield, maternal great grandparents, Norman and Bonnie Stepp and Vernon Martin and Carrie (Trent) Shockey.
Tyler enjoyed life, but some of his favorite things included playing videos games, baseball, football, wrestling, hunting, fishing, dirt bike riding, camping and bonfires with his family and friends. Tyler was always there to brighten the lives of others. In keeping with Tyler's loving and generous spirit in his final act of kindness, it was his decision to donate life so others may live it. He was an organ, eye, and tissue donor.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Tyler's memory be directed to the FSHD Society, Department 960, P.O. Box 4106, Woburn, MA 01888-4106 or to the International Dyslexia Association of Central Ohio, P.O. Box 1601, Westerville, OH 43086.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm-7:00pm, on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at First Light Church, 140 Elva Ct., Vandalia, where Funeral Services will begin at 7:00pm.
