Gary Smith

SMITH, Gary, age 59, of Kettering, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jeweline Smith; sons, Gary (Jeri) Peacock, Chad (Julie) Smith, Chris (Courtney) Smith, Casey Smith and fiancée, Stacy, and Cory Smith; grandchildren, Codi Peacock, Ty and Colten Smith, Dalton and Layne Smith; mother, Shirley Brandenburg; sister, Nancy (Dave) Scarpelli; brother, Joe (Amy) Smith; other siblings, Mike, Diana, Debra, Judy, Rick, and Sharon; a special aunt and uncle, Aunt Jeanie and Uncle Dick Shaneyfelt; mother and father-in-law, who loved him like a son, Barbara and Vernon DePew; 2 sisters-in-law, JoAnn Fowler and Fonda (Mark) Frasier; brother-in-law, Ron (Dena) DePew; very special friend, Al Chavez, and beloved canine companion, "Toby".

Gary was a 1971 graduate of Fairmont West High School. His passion in life was his wife, sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren. The family would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank you" to the staff of Kettering Davita and Home Health Care, as well as all those who helped care for Gary over the years.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 24, 2012 at the funeral home, with burial following at David's Cemetery, Kettering.
