Gary Pennington

Gary "Woodstock" Pennington, 76, of Kettering, Ohio. Postmaster, Vanner, Biker, and devoted father and husband, passed away on December 19, 2023. Gary was born on February 3, 1947 in Berea, KY to the late Betty and Charles Pennington.

Gary leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Cathy Pennington; children, Mickey (Julie) Pennington, Sean Pennington, and Heather (Dan) Englund Schroder; 6 grandchildren, Austin (Sarah), Zoe, Haley, Julian, Blake, and Mia; siblings, Sherry (Marty) Pesut, Gillis (Sue)Wollum, and Art (Karen) Wollum and many other family and friends.

He was a veteran who served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He retired as Postmaster of the United States Post office after over 20 years of service. He was also a proud Legion member of Moose Lodge 73. Gary was an avid Southern Ohio Van Council (SOVC) member, even serving as President. Through SOVC, he not only made friends from all over the world but many are considered family.

Visitation will be held from 2pm-4pm, service will begin at 4pm, on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. Wake immediately following the service at Marion's Piazza in Beavercreek.
