Gary Edmond Inlay

August 7, 1945 — August 17, 2021

Gary Edmond Inlay, age 76 of Huber Heights, passed away August 17, 2021 after a lengthy illness. He was born on August 7, 1945 in Sioux City, IA, son of the late Emmett and Betty (Peters) Inlay.

Gary graduated from Central High School in 1964. Following graduation, Gary was a loyal and hardworking man, dedicating 35 years at Stone Container. He married the love of his life, Aneta (Stoltze) Inlay on March 9, 1967 - they celebrated 54 years of marriage. One could say they were destined to be soul-mates for life. Gary enjoyed his free time with his family, camping, fishing, and playing cards but most importantly, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was extremely important to Gary, and he cherished every memory made. Anyone that knew Gary, knew he could light up a room with his presence, smile, and witty sense of humor. He loved to entertain with his animated card reading, story-telling and singing a joyful tune he made his own.

Surviving in addition to his wife, is his daughter, Renee (Inlay) Shippy of Ohio; Douglas Inlay and his wife Katie, of Florida; his youngest son, Timothy Inlay of Ohio; his brother, Richard Inlay of Arizona; Roberta (Inlay) Holloway of Nebraska; Marlene (Inlay) Waldman of Nebraska; 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

He had a unique way of enriching the lives of every individual he met, making each person feel special. In honor of Gary, a service of remembrance will be held at a later date in Sioux City, IA.
