A heart of gold stopped beating on Monday, October 3, 2016.
Gary Louis Hibberd was born October 7, 1936 in Centerville, Ohio. Gary was a longtime building contractor and cabinet maker in the Dayton area, as owner of Hibberd Construction in Centerville, and The Shadow Box in Springboro.
Gary attended Northridge Freewill Baptist Church. He was a charter member of the Centerville Kiwanis Club. He was an avid fisherman and a 50 jump skydiving veteran. Gary enjoyed playing poker with his buddies.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd A and Eloise Z. Hibberd, and stepson Corporal Adam Jones, USMC.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn Jones Hibberd; daughter Wendy L. (Franklin) Good; sons Dean J. (Wendi) Hibberd and Robert (Lisa) Hibberd; brother Gordon Hibberd (Albany, NY) and sister Cynthia Hibberd (Salem, MA). He is also survived by six stepchildren, 13 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, Lukas and Peyton Jones.
Friends may visit on October 7, 2016 from 2:00-3:00pm, with services following at 3:00pm, at Newcomer Funeral Home, South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439. Interment will follow at Centerville Cemetery.
