Gary "Bruce" Haynes, age 58, of Oak Hill, OH passed away Monday, January 20th, 2014 at Holzer Medical Center.
Bruce was born November 27, 1955 in Dayton, OH. He is survived by his mother, Orpha D. Haynes of Vandalia; sister, Deborah (Byron) Johnson of Columbus; brothers, Ron (Mary Jo) Haynes of Springboro and Brion (Jennifer) Haynes of Vandalia; 6 nieces; 5 nephews; 8 great nieces and 3 great nephews.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Roy "Emory" Haynes; brother, Emory "Lee" Haynes; and sister, Sharon Lynn Lantz.
Bruce was a United States Navy veteran who served from 1973 to 1977. During his service he became a member of the "Royal Order of Bluenoses" when he crossed the Arctic Circle on board the USS Elmer Montgomery destroyer escort ship.
Memorial service is Thursday January 30, 2014 at 12pm at the Miami Valley Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, Centerville, OH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the National Kidney Foundation.
Arrangements are by the Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel), Kettering, OH.
