Gary D. Dale, age 71, of Vandalia, passed away peacefully at home with Cindy by his side, on September 27, 2022. He was born on February 25, 1951 to the late Howard and Rena Dale. He was a graduate of Northridge High School, class of '69.
He was an avid sports fan, and he enjoyed watching football, basketball, and baseball with his life-long friend, Darrell Stephens, and best friends, Kevin Huntsberger, Doug Welty, and Rick Stum. Gary always had them over to watch the annual Buckeye vs. Xichigan games. His favorite teams were the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed bowling in his younger years, but the love of his life was his wife of 52 years, Cindy. Lake St. Mary's was their favorite place to be together, where they would often go fishing and enjoy time on their boat. He also loved to spend time with his girls and their families at the lake and during the holidays.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Thelma Herzog.
His memory will be cherished by his beloved wife, Cindy Dale; his children: Lori (Steve) Heineman and Lindsay Bowser; grandchildren: Emma & Zach Bowser and Gillian & Allison Heineman; siblings: Diane (Charlie) Shoemaker; Patty (Dan) Nock; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
