Gary L. Cales

Gary Len Cales, age 71, of Dayton, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born March 18, 1952 in Dayton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his dear mother, Louella (Spencer) Howard.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Janice "Jan" (Bright) Cales; his son Gary Len Cales II (Jackie), along with his daughter Jamie Funk Phillpott (Paul), and his grandchildren.

Gary worked for Norfolk Southern Railways for more than 42 years. He was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles on Wayne Avenue and loved spending time with his friends there. Gary also enjoyed riding his Trike with "The Eagle Riders". He was an avid Bengals fan and watched many games at home or with his friends at the Eagles.

Gary will be remembered for being a devoted husband, a loyal friend, and for taking pride in looking good. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
