Gary W. Bedel, M.D.

Gary W. Bedel, M.D., age 64, of Springboro passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 11, 2024. He was a cherished physician and beloved family man. Born on March 23, 1960, in Covington, Kentucky, Gary dedicated his life to serving others through his practice of family medicine in Franklin, Ohio.

A graduate of Wright State University, Gary's medical career was marked by his caring nature, selflessness, and a remarkable ability to bring humor to his practice. He was not only a skilled physician but also a compassionate listener, always placing the well-being of his patients at the forefront of his efforts.

Beyond his professional life, Gary was deeply devoted to his family. He is survived by his loving daughters, Jenn (Mike) Truett and Erica (Justin) Griffith, as well as his cherished grandchildren: Taylor Truett, Jace Griffith, Kayleigh Doggett, Madison Truett, Brayden Doggett, Ryan Truett, and Aubrey Truett. His siblings, Cindy (Bernie) Dusing, Al (JR) Bedel, and Ed Bedel, along with his granddogs, Simba and Dash. Gary maintained a special bond with Jeannie Jaeggi, the loving friend and mother of his daughters.

Throughout his life, Gary enjoyed various hobbies that brought him joy. He liked fishing and loved to visit Gulf Shores with his brothers. Riding his motorcycle and going on walks allowed him to experience the beauty of nature, while spending quality time with his family remained his greatest joy. 

Gary was preceded in death by his twin brother, Greg Bedel, and his parents, Edward and Rita Bedel. His legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to family and community will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His life was a testament to the impact one person can have on countless lives through kindness and genuine care.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Service will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
