Garry Lee Redick

Garry Lee Redick, age 70, of Huber Heights, passed away September 18, 2023. He was born August 9, 1953 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Donald and Kathleen Redick. In addition to his parents, Garry was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law: Donna and Ronnie Newton; brother, Dale Redick; and father-in-law and mother-in-law: Frederick and Joan Wisebaker.

Garry is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Barbara Redick; children: Melissa Austin, Michelle Powell and Jennifer Redick (Shane Fitzpatrick); grandchildren: Justin Garry Powell (Taylor), Adam Randy Powell and their father, Randy Powell, Daniel Lee Redick, Allison Michelle Austin and David Frederick Gore; brothers-in-law: Robert Thurman (Mary) and Jerald Thurman (Judy); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Garry was a member of the VFW Post 9582, Amvets Post 464. He was a very patriotic man who always supported our military. He was an avid sports fan, always rooting for the Steelers. Garry coached basketball, loved traveling and riding his motorcycle. He never met a stranger, was everyone's best friend and was a huge history buff. More than anything, Garry loved his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, a caring father and loving grandfather. He was known as Captain by his friends and will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 am on Monday, September 25, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will begin at 10:30 am.
