Garry E. Miller

MILLER, Garry E., age 60, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly, Wednesday, July 11, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Ruth Miller. Garry leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Sherry Miller; sons, Shawn and Matthew Miller; brother, Tim Miller; grandchildren, Michelle and Logan Miller, and longtime friend of the family, Kathy Spencer. Garry was a graduate of Eastern Baptist Seminary and pastored for over 35 years in the Dayton area and was employed by Dayton Public Schools as an interpreter for the deaf, President of the Interpreters Union, Sinclair's ASL Advisory Committee, and Deaf Awareness Committee for over 20 years. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the United States Air Force. He also worked at DESC for 15 years. Garry was a faithful member of Morning Star Baptist Church where he served in the Deaf Ministry. Funeral services will be 10:00am Tuesday, July 17, 2007 with a half hour of visitation prior to the service at Morning Star Baptist Church, 208 Nutt Rd., Centerville. Family will also receive friends from 5:00-8:00pm Monday, July 16, 2007 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering.
