Garnetta L. Robinson, age 81 of Dayton, formerly of Cincinnati, gained her angel wings on March 2, 2020. She was born February 21, 1939 in Pleasureville, Kentucky to the late Floyd Robinson and Fannie Rogers. In addition to her parents, Garnetta was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Robert White, Kenneth Rogers, Jackie Rogers, Charles Rogers, Vivian Greene, Peggy Chambers, Zelma McCorry and William Robinson, Sr.; and god-son, Joaquinn Harper.
Garnetta is survived by her sister, Sue Greene of Dayton, OH; brother, Floyd Robinson Jr. of Louisville, KY; many special nieces and nephews, including Valecia & Guy Roberson, who cared for Nett for the last 3 years; niece, La'Cole Greene; nephew, Earl Rodgers; god-children: Kimberly Harris, Tiffini Jenkins and Durrell Shanks; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Garnetta worked as a Salad Chef for Proctor and Gamble and retired after 30 years of service. She also was an employee at Neal's Restaurant in Cincinnati for 5 years. Garnetta was a member of Southern Baptist Church and was a faithful member of the Greater Cincinnati Chorus Union for over 50 years. She was an Officer with the Safety and Security Department at the National Convention of Gospel Choirs and Chorus'.
Garnetta enjoyed cooking, bowling and playing softball. She volunteered her time serving the homeless. Nett was a very selfless lady who took great pride in caring for others. She was known as Grandma to Ry'Lynn, Cameron, Xyon, Ta'Lor, Tiarra, Aneceyon, Justan, Saumara, Sherman, Saumyah and La'Carter.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 13, 2020 at Southern Baptist Church, 3556 Reading Road, Cincinnati, where the family will begin receiving friends at 11:00 am. Reverend Larkin officiating. Burial to follow at Spring Grove Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Garnetta's memory to OHC (Oncology-Hematology Care).
