Gardenia Braden, age 83 of Dayton, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at her home. She was born July 20, 1935 in Whitley, Kentucky the daughter of Adam and Daisy Petrey.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters and 6 brothers.
She was an avid bingo player, usually accompanied by her son Mark. She loved shopping with her son Russell on Sundays, and she enjoyed putting together puzzles.
Gardenia is survived by her eight sons, Larry D Braden, Russell A Braden, Mark E Braden, Victor A Braden, Ricky L Braden, Richard W Braden, Michael S Braden, Brian K Braden; brother, Adam Petrey, Jr.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; special family friend Tanya and Bill Hunnewell. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, family and friends, including her bingo group Clem Harper, Val, Ann and Stan and Barb. Special thanks to Chris Davis for all her help during Gardenia's illness.
Funeral Service will be held on December 3, 2018 at 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Visitation will be December 3, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am also at the funeral home. Interment Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery.
