Galen Ray Brown, age 74 of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born November 5, 1948 in Greenville, Ohio, the son of the late Leonard and Katherine Brown.
Galen was an avid Ohio State Football fan where you could catch him every weekend during the season cheering them on. Galen loved sports of all kinds, and it's something he bonded with his son and grandsons over throughout his life. In his younger years, Galen loved playing card games with his best friend Tom Shaner, sister Cheryl and wife Pauline who all preceded him in death. Galen was married to the love of his life for nearly 50 years and raised two children together.
Galen is survived by his children, Michael Brown and Holly (Mike) Haarmeyer; sister, Donna Baker; five grandchildren, Bradley Crawford (Alexis), Hunter Brown, Xander Brown, Mason Falknor (Madison), Leland Brown; great grandchildren Brantley Preston Crawford, Hudsyn Kaylynn Crawford and Phoenix Reighn Falknor; daughter-in-law, Heather Falknor; as well as numerous extended family members.
Along with his parents, Galen is preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters, his nephew Gary Ditmer and his wife Pauline Brown (Smith).
A private celebration of life with immediate family will be taking place at a later date.
