Galen Albert Booker II, 69, of Kettering Ohio, and formerly of Beavercreek, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018, at Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, Ohio.
He was born on November 17, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio to Galen Albert Booker I and Denise Yvette Booker.
He served in the Navy SeaBees in 1967 in Gulfport, MS.; two tours in Viet Nam. Mr. Booker loved working in construction. He was employed after honorable discharge from the Navy in 1971 with Rose Construction in Beavercreek; went on to work on a project in the Summerfield in Beavercreek; went to work at Lowe's in Beavercreek and then to Xenia, Ohio.
Mr. Booker was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Jacqueline Denise Shelton.
He is survived by two sisters; Jeannine A. Spang of Dayton, Ohio; and Jermaine (Jerry) Y. Hill and her husband Carl (Gene) Hill, Jr. of Indianola, MS.;daughter Carrie S. Booker and one grand daughter. Also with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 16th from 1pm-2pm for viewing at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. A small grave site service will be officiated by Gene Hill, Jr at Valley View Memorial Gardens at 170 North Valley, Xenia, Ohio.
