Gail Sue Clark

March 14, 1962 — January 13, 2022

Gail Sue Clark (formerly Goss), age 59 of Dayton, was called home to be with Jesus with her daughter by her side on January 13, 2022 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born March 14, 1962 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Raymond "Jack" and Elsie (Storms) Goss. She started attending Dunbar High School in 1976 and completed her high school education (GED) program with several close friends on February 12, 1987. Gail became a member of the VFW 2800 Ladies Auxiliary in 1989. One of her passions was cleaning; she worked in the environmental services department at Miami Valley Hospital from 2006-2013. She loved her job, she loved her coworkers, and they loved her. She was hard working and dedicated, and she received several awards for her outstanding service and excellence.

Gail married the love of her life, Jim, on Aug 22, 1981. She loved drinking coffee with him every morning and making him watch TLC shows against his will (so he says) every night. For more than 40 beautiful years, he always filled her cup…and her heart. "Babe, Bloody Mary!"

Tuesdays were reserved for family dinners at Clancy's Tavern, where everyone had a place at her table. Gail loved being with her crew more than anything. She treated everyone she met as though they were family. She was a loving mother to only one, but she was either "Mom" or "Aunt Gail" to everyone else; some even knew her as "Magoo." She most enjoyed family gatherings, game nights, and anything that involved being with the people she adored. She also loved the beach, especially Destin, and crazy family vacations. Late night phone calls with her nieces were a favorite pastime, and they knew she'd always be there if they needed advice; you could literally tell her anything. She loved bonfires, s'mores with fudge stripe cookies, and all-nighters where we usually laughed til we cried. She loved to laugh most of all. Her laugh was heartfelt and contagious, and it can still be heard by all those that knew and loved her.

Gail's deepest passion was being a mom. She loved her only daughter, Candice, more than anything. They shared a special bond that went beyond mother and daughter; they were best friends. Gail's grand dogs also meant the world to her. She loved animals, especially dogs, and spent all of her years caring for them.

Gail is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, James "Jim" Clark; beloved daughter, Candice Clark; future son-in-law, Oscar Almeyda; dearest brother, Gerald Goss; favorite people, Nicole Epps, Danielle (Doug) Forman; favorite niece, Ashley Sanders (Eric); favorite nephew, Shawn (Suzanne) Goss; favorite birthday boy, Paulie; special friend, Shirley Tannehill and special "grandson" Naiden; cherished grand dogs, Maddie, Abby and Charlie; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Jimmy, Larry and Ralph Goss; lifelong friend, Devonna "Dede" Howard; beloved niece, Jamie (Goss) Kindell and nephew, Jimmy (Goss) Loges; best dog ever, Divit; and other beloved fur babies, Taz "Bubba," Lacey "Bird" and Penny.

Gail had a giving heart, and she supported many fundraisers and foundations. She loved Jesus, and being good to people was important to her. She was caring, compassionate, influential, and admired by so many. Her door was always open. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend to all. Her legacy lives on in those dearest to her. The emptiness she leaves behind will never be filled, but instead, echo with her love, her laughter, and her kindness. Gail was the foundation of her family, and life without her will never be the same; she will forever be missed. "Bye, love ya, see ya later."

"So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord." (II Corinthians 5:6-8 NKJV)

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, OH. Funeral services will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 4:00 pm.
