Rev. G. B. Sallee, 88, of Dayton, Ohio went to be with the Lord, early Saturday morning, September 20, 2014. He was born on December 13, 1925 in Hazard, Kentucky to the late Kellie and Alice (Pennington) Sallee.
G.B. served in the U.S. Army as a Master Sargent during WWII and the Korean War. He retired from Delco Moraine in 1968. G. B. was a member of the Baptist Association who served as both a Pastor and traveling Evangelist.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Ernest and Elsie Poffenberger; grandson, Jesse M. Fletcher; infant sister; 7 brothers, Lexie, Oscar, Hoy, Hargis, Dave, Shiloh, Grover; brothers and sisters-in-law; special friend, Brother George Silvis.
G. B. is survived by his loving and devoted Wife of 68 years, Mary Jane (Poffenberger) Sallee; children, Sharon (Harold) Marlow Sr., Gary (Pam) Sallee, Kathleen (David) Fletcher, Rebecca Wilson, Mark Sallee, Timothy Sallee, Mary Ann Flippo, Bruce Sallee; 28 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law, Juanita, Dora May and Dorothy; 1 brother-in-law, Loy; numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many good friends, including special friend, Rev. Bob Anderson.
G. B. will be dearly missed by loved ones.
Visitation will be from 5- 8 pm Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (4104 Needmore Road, Dayton). His Funeral Ceremony will be held Friday at 1 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - North Chapel with burial to follow at Bearcreek Cemetery. G.B.'s nephew, Rev. Ronnie Sallee will officiate the service.
