Frieda Paquette, age 91 of Tipp City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2022. She was born December 1, 1930 in Munich, Germany the daughter of Alois and Margarethe Krieg.
After the war, Frieda married Joe, the love of her life and an American airman, and they began a life of travel and adventure, living in Brooklyn, Châteauroux, and Dayton, as well as traveling throughout Europe and the United States. Frieda was an avid gardener and lifelong sewer. She was famous for the beautiful clothing she made for her grandchildren, and she worked as an assistant manager at Hancock Fabrics for over 20 years. Frieda was a die-hard sports fan, faithfully watching every game her beloved FC Bayern and German National teams played, and an enthusiastic fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals. She adored animals and was a beloved Omi and Urli to her four-legged family members. Frieda was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of St. Helen Parish.
In addition to her parents, Frieda was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Joseph Paquette and brother, Alois Krieg.
Frieda is survived by her children, Angela McCoy and Gregory (Cheryl) Paquette; 4 grandchildren, Megan (Aaron), Erin, Anne, and Sean; siblings, Margaret, Adelgunde (Gunther), Gertraude (Helmut), and Peter; cousin Helmut; sister-in-law, Doris, as well as many more dear friends and family.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church with burial to follow at Dayton National Cemetery.
