Frederick R. Gonzalez, age 80 of Huber Heights, passed away September 16, 2013. He was born April 3, 1933 in Chicago, IL to the late John and Frances Gonzalez. In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his brothers: John, Hank and Bob.
Fred is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cathy Gonzalez; children: Steve Gonzalez, David Gonzalez and Lisa (Kevin) Kawanishi; grandchildren: Tylan, Thomas, Brandon, Nico, Heather, Devin and Alisha; a gaggle of great grandchildren; brother, Manuel (Wilma Shields) Gonzalez; sisters: Lori (Eugene) Rossini and Louise (Arthur) Ruiz; brother-in-law, John (Nan) Wylie; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Fred was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Korean War and was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church, where he was an Elder.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Faith Presbyterian Church, 5555 Chambersburg Road, Huber Heights, OH 45424. A luncheon will follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Fred's name to either Faith Presbyterian Church or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements by Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio.
