Frederick L. Haschart

Frederick L. Haschart, "Fred," age 88 of Dayton, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Walnut Creek Assisted Living. He was born November 27, 1933 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late Otto and Jessie Haschart.

He met his wife Carol in the late 1950's in Michigan while she was an intern at Ford Hospital in Detroit. She was renting an apartment from Fred's aunt and uncle. They started dating shortly after, and then were married in 1961.

Fred started his drafting career in Dayton in the early 1960's, finishing up in the early 1990's. Still wanting to do more, he got a job at Kroger, where he worked for over 12 years, retiring in 2006.

Throughout his life he enjoyed all kinds of sports, especially baseball. He really liked the Cincinnati Reds. He even tried out for them in the 1950's. Fred was a long-time member of the Centerville United Church where he sang in the choir.

Fred is survived by his son, Brian Haschart; daughter-in-law Karen Thomas; step grandson, Chad Thomas, and granddaughter Aubrey; son Gary Haschart; daughter-in-law Andrea Haschart; granddaughter Dana Haschart; sister-in-law: Marilyn McAdams, as well as, many nieces and nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol Jean Haschart; His parents Otto and Jesse Haschart. He was also preceded in death by three brothers; Arthur, George, and Karl.

A private burial will take place at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
